America's Brand 2016

Well many people are glad the presidential election is over. Not me. This election was one that had every one of my synapses firing almost non-stop. The issues, the dynamics, the fake news and innuendo all was immensely interesting to sift through and find out what made real sense.
The election, like many previous ones was a time to remember things I long ago forgot from high school history classes. One of the ideas that I enjoyed revisiting was the difference between a Democracy and a Republic.
America, the brand, is often referred to as a Democracy inside and outside the U.S. But being both a Democracy and Republic is what the country was created to be and still remains so. This important brand distinction is worth considering.
